Screen Casting

Screen casting essentially means that you can record what you are doing on your screen, make a video and post that Video to your Google Classroom. It is an awesome way to easily share content with you classes. The videos that I have made have my face on them, you don't have to do that if you don't want to, you can just record your screen and your voice. Check out some of the tutorials below to learn how to screencast. Meryl has also provided a tutorial for Screecastomatic which is a non time limited screen casting tool so it could be worthwhile giving that one a go as well! Another free option that Jake prefers is RecordRTC. There is no need to pay for a license for any screen recording software, as there are great free options out there.

Download Screencastify

Screencastify is a Google App which provides all of the basic tools that you need for screen casting. You can use it to record audio, video and draw on your screen in order to provide instructions. The biggest limitation that it has is that you can only make five minute long videos unless you pay for the premium version.
